Introducing Donna and her big heart and love for families and children; she was born and raised an only daughter with 4 brothers in a small town of New Jersey. Much of her pre-teen, teen, and young adult years she devoted to nannying and babysitting for friends, neighbors, and family. Upon graduating high school, she proceeded to take her interest in children further and obtained a bachelor’s in education. Donna specialized in special education bringing her students a love and passion for learning through a hands-on visual approach.
Donna eventually married and together they moved to sunny Florida to begin a new adventure and start a family of their own. Donna always wanted children of her own but was told by doctors that she would not be fortunate to have them. Many prayers and crying out to God, she and her husband were blessed with five children and adopted two more along the way.
She left the work industry to devote herself full time to homeschooling and raising her children into the fine adults they are today.
Never idle for too long, she decided to delve back into the work field. She took training to become a birth and postpartum doula supporting families during their own miraculous moments of childbirth and providing them postpartum support as they adjusted to parenthood. Donna is a woman of many talents. Between blessing families with birth and postpartum support, she also dedicated her time to teaching over-seas students online, was a private tutor, and babysat for her regular vacationing client families and friends.
The apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree when it comes to her daughter Emmy. Both having similar personalities, interests, and dreams. Emmy is one out of two of her adopted daughters.
Adopted at the age of four, Emmy was accepted whole heartedly as part of the family. Her childhood consisted of lots and lots of outdoor imaginative play with six siblings. Creative, hands-on learning at home, stability, and love.
As Emmy reached her adult years, she found she struggled with knowing her purpose for her future. What she did know and what she prayed for was her own family, a husband, and several babies of her own. With so much love in her heart to give, she first took a path that led to elderly care. For five years she worked between elderly care facilities and private elderly home care. Her absolute favorite most rewarding moments in this profession was bringing light, love, and joy to the faces of those entrusted in her care.
Moving forward, Emmy is married to the man she always prayed for, and they are now raising 4 children. In between being a wife, mother, and maintaining her home, she too took training to be a professional postpartum doula. She devoted a lot of her time to supporting families educationally, emotionally, and physically. “This is the career of my dreams”, is what she tells everyone.
After delivering their youngest child, she decided to temporarily leave the working industry to dedicate her time to homeschooling, investing in and raising her children. “Today's world is a scary place and I want to be the one overseeing my children’s education, emotional, developmental, and physical needs”, is what she tells those that inquire of her decision.
Donna and Emmy can’t really pinpoint exactly when their idea for a business happened, but they can tell you that their entrepreneurial dreams, their creative ideas put together, lots of hard work, many prayers, trial and error, and several client families later, they created Stand By Me ~ A Mother’s Resource LLC.
They believe God’s hand to be in every step they took and will take as they continue in this business venture together. Donna and Emmy utilize their individual talents to complement each other and work together resulting in a great team and partnership.
Together they divide and conquer using their personal experience, knowledge, and intuition to source families with the best professional care.
